Chamber Musicians of Kamloops Presents Canadian Tale

The Sycamore Quartet teams up with local clarinet legend Sally Arai in a lyrical program of music by Vernon’s Imant Raminsh, Nelson’s Doug Jamieson, and the ever-bubbly Allan Gilliland.

You can attend this concert either online (live stream) or in-person.

Tickets (in-person) : $ 25 – general, and $ 20 for CMK members and students. Free for children age

Tickets (live stream):  $ 15 – general, $ 10 for CMK members and students, $ 25 – front row, $ 40 – family.

Imant Raminsh (b. 1943) – String Quartet # 3 (2010)

Recitative and Arioso (Andante) – Dance (Vivace) – Legend (Andante) – Recitative (Andante) – Celebration (Allegro giocoso)

Intermission

Doug Jamieson (b. 1949) – A Canadian Folktale, for string quartet

Allan Gilliland (b. 1965) – Suite from the Sound, for clarinet and string quartet

Parry’s Ground (Moderately fast) – Waltz for Mr. Evans (Slowly) – Flying Fingers (Fast, with rhythmic intense)

Imant Raminsh (b. 1943) – Aria (Andante con moto), from the quintet for clarinet and string quartet (2021)
