Yale County Jug Band
After spring strawberry picking in Langley there was a sometimes a small break before the tree planting season. The members of The Yale County Jug Band would hitch to Kamloops and “hole up” in Kelly’s Mom’s basement with homemade liquor and drum tobacco. As none of the members of the band are able to read or write, the way they passed the time was by writing songs for the lovers of summers past. Now, as time moves on, the YCJB wants to share those songs and memories of sweet hippie love with you. Their music has been described as boxcar rock. It shakes and shimmers like a train with no real destination.
If you breath deep when you listen you might even still smell the drum tobacco and pine trees.
