Owen Powers has been creating music as Cariboo Coast since Halloween night of 2018. However, his love and discovery of music began long before that. Growing up on an upright Yamaha piano, music slowly entwined itself into Owen’s life, but remained a private passion. Finally, with the help of some good friends, Owen brought his passion to his high school stage during an open mic. It was this moment, ignited by the sensations that can only be created during a live atmosphere, where Owen’s passion became something more. Fuelled by this freshly discovered energy, he left for university where music began to take on new meaning.

Now, years later, Cariboo Coast aims to continue on down that path – carrying inspiration and meaning into each chord along the way. Cariboo Coast has an upbeat, indie rock sound that is flavoured with folk tastes. As a singer/songwriter, Owen Powers fuses personal experiences with inspirations from his surrounding landscapes to create a genuine, acoustic based sound that calms the mind and drives the soul. Cariboo Coast loves to blend art with storytelling to create music that others can experience in their own unique way.
