Ken Wells

Ken has studied the Sarode for over four decades with notable Indian Sarode players Ustad Ali Akbar Khan, Ustad Aashish Khan, and Pandit Monidas. His guitar work goes back to early rock and roll, jazz, and folk music. His other instruments, notably the Bouzouki and Kanun, were the result of spending time in Greece, and working with local musicians.

Here in Canada he was the principle musician opening the Chan center for the arts for HRH Queen Elizabeth.

He performed a private concert for the late PM Pierre Elliot Trudeau, and has performed on the CBC, BBC, All India radio, played at the T.R.U. campus, and at the International Jazz Festival had a guest appearance with Canadian band The Tea Party in Whistler BC.

Ken has produced 4 CD’s in his career, and played on 2 LP recordings in Greece, plus some television and film music, he is a member of SOCAN.
Ken also worked in the film industry as a paint coordinator and scenic artist for over twenty years, and has coordinated many large feature films, TV series, movies and recently worked for Western Canada Theatre. Ken is also known in Kamloops for his abilities as a mural artist and has painted 10 in the downtown area.
