James & ​ ​The​ ​North​ ​Shore released​ ​an​ ​8​ ​song​ ​debut​ ​via​ ​Factotum​ ​CO​ ​titled​ ​“Lover?​ ​I Barely​ ​Know​ ​Her”.​ ​Recorded​ ​live​ ​from​ ​the​ ​floor,​ ​the​ ​album displays​ ​the​ ​band​ ​at​ ​their​ ​most​ ​honest​ ​and​ ​raw.​ James ​Bryan’s​ ​stark lyrics​ ​and​ ​delivery​ ​are​ ​reminiscent​ ​of​ ​a​ ​Leonard​ ​Cohen​ ​or​ ​Jason Molina.​ ​The​ ​North​ ​Shore​ ​provide​ ​the​ ​backbone​ ​that​ ​guides​ ​the ship.​ ​Sometimes​ ​they​ ​veer​ ​into​ ​wildness,​ ​other​ ​times​ ​into​ ​calm. Cohesively​ ​the​ ​group​ ​form​ ​a​ ​folk​ ​sound​ ​with​ ​sub-Celtic influences​ ​and​ ​a​ ​working​ ​class​ ​ethos​ ​that​ ​recalls​ ​Billy​ ​Bragg. 
The​ ​group​ ​toured​ ​across​ ​Canada​ ​in​ ​the​ ​fall​ ​of​ ​2017​ ​and​ ​will be touring Europe/UK in May 2018
